Thank you for taking the time to read this. God has given all of us
special talents that He is going to use to reach others. I am no
different than any of you in this aspect. The Lord has blessed me with
many gifts including a loving wife and family, dreams and desires, but
most importantly a desire to help others. In the world, people, put
value on things that are really not at all that valuable: homes, cars,
and other carnal things.. these "things" are nice, but are not what
really drives us or makes us happy. Here is a great example!
you buy a new vehicle and it is really shiny and looks great... it does
make you feel better when you drive it... you are always washing,
waxing and buffing it to a mirror finish!! then one day after shopping
you notice that a shopping cart ran away and put a big old scuff and
dent into your shiny new ride! well after allowing yourself to get
upset and angry over it, you notice that your attitude towards this
once shining status symbol has changed... you find yourself too busy to
be bothered washing and waxing your ride.. and the dirt starts to
accumulate on the outside of your car... you will also notice that the
interior that was once vacuumed and cleaned is strewn with garbage and
left over drive thru bags. the pride you once had in your "idol" is no
longer... you have come to the realization that your car is just that a
car...
Well this happens with our walk with Christ as well.. we start off gang
busters when we first become born again.. we want to conquer the
world... we start repeating to ourselves over and over again.. I can do
all things through Christ who strengthens me!!! and we do well for a
while and then Blamo!! it happens, we sin..... now we start to second
guess our relationship with Christ. we feel that we let Him down and
that it must be over... so we hide and make it difficult for God to
work in our lives because we are too busy trying to figure out why we
screwed up and if we can be forgiven of our sins again!!! But there is
something that we have got to realize... God likes nice things too...
that is why he created us and everything that we have... He takes pride
in His creation, and it makes Him happy to keep us clean and "wax" and
"buff" us... He was cleaning us long before we were born. the
difference between us and God is that after we get a "dent" and "scuff"
He still continues to wash, wax and buff... The Lord does not care
about our imperfections... He created us for a reason... to Love! and
the only thing He wants in return is our love.... we must realize that
no matter what, God is going to continue to Love us.. even if we choose
the wrong path in life, God will still love us.. it breaks His heart
to see any of His children stray and choose the wrong road... But no
matter what He still loves us... God is like the person that sees an
old, rusted car that needs a complete restoration... that person looks
beyond what they physically see and sees the potential.. they see the
finished product. that's how God sees us all the time.. He looks
beyond the imperfections at the finished product.! We need to
remember, that Christ said on the Cross that "It is Finished"... when
He said this He defeated sin!!! Christ bore the sin of the whole entire
world to abolish it forever!! So is there sin??? depends on how you
look at it. For a believer, the answer is no... when we accepted
Christ as our savior and said, I believe that Christ took the
punishment and died for my sins- He said Thank you.. and gave us a
gift.. the gift of eternal life with Him!! He died for all sins: Past,
Present and Future!! so when we bobble and slip, it is ok... repent and
say, "Lord, I messed up... I need You and your strength to get me
though this." But know that we can continue on, knowing that God is
still looking at us as if we were sitting on the showroom floor!!!!
Be Blessed,
Ray
