Filled with the fullness of God?

Have you been in a situation where you wanted to demonstrate more of the power and presence of Jesus in your business or workplace? Perhaps, there was a difficult situation that demanded the wisdom of God in a special way; a colleague with an incurable disease that needs healing from God; a project that’s making no headway despite many hours of labour; a member of staff that’s shared their inner thoughts with you that demands God’s insight or a business that needs God’s divine intervention.

Sometimes, we feel inadequate at meeting these challenges. We know that God can do all these things and more, after all, we have read the Bible and know what it says and yet sometimes we still  feel quite incapable.
I guess, the question is, ‘in your interaction within the marketplace, do people know that you have been with Jesus? Are you actively demonstrating God’s power? Does your face radiate the glory of God as Moses’ face did or do you think there is more?

I am sure all of us (including those who feel that they are currently doing this) would like to say there is more that could be done. You wish to demonstrate through signs and wonders to people, the presence and reality of God.

If you have been a reader of mine for a while, you would know I am going somewhere with this. Let’s look at Ephesians 1:17. Paul, in praying for the Ephesians church, prayed that God would give to them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. The key is the knowledge of Him. I believe that the extent to which we demonstrate God in the marketplace is the extent to which we know Him.

In this verse, Paul is referring to the Holy Spirit unlocking the scriptures so that we can not only know Him but also experience His power and presence. Demonstrating God’s power would take more than human efforts and energy. We need to be energised by the Holy Spirit so that we can minister to other people in a way that meets their needs.

But it goes beyond knowing God, God actually wants us to be filled with all His fullness. His fullness? Yes, His fullness! ( Ephesians 3:19). What an awesome thought. So at what point do we become full of God?

If you fill a glass with water, at what point do you know that the glass can no longer hold water. It’s the point at which the water starts to overflow. Before that, even if the glass is visibly full, it might still be able to hold small drops of water. When we are filled with the fullness of God, we will start to overflow to the world around us. Only then can we represent Jesus to the world.

Therefore, as we pray and ask for more of God and seek to be consistently full of God; we will begin to flow out to others. Unfortunately, there is no short cut. Let’s be so full of God that we can be both transformed inwardly and be relevant to the people around us.

I am sure that you’ve been blessed by this post, so until I appear again in your inbox, stay blessed.

Ola
